Today, Global Dairy Trade published its 2022 Annual Report, providing highlights and key trading statistics for the year.
2022 was an exciting year for Global Dairy Trade, with a new service and new shareholders.
We started the year strongly by celebrating our 300th Trading Event in January.
Throughout the year, we released new features on our refreshed GDT Events platform, and launched the pilot for a new service called GDT Pulse designed to increase the frequency of price discovery.
Most importantly, we transitioned to a new ownership structure whereby EEX, Fonterra and NZX each hold an equal one-third (33.33%) shareholding in GDT.
The inclusion of EEX and NZX as equal shareholders, with their strong interests in dairy and established reputations as regulated exchanges, formed a strategic partnership with a shared vision to significantly grow the volume of physical and financial dairy trading.
647,296 MT of product was traded on GDT platforms in 2022, from six sellers representing three major supply regions - Europe, Oceania and US.
Seven product groups were sold to 264 bidders this year. GDT Events achieved an average of 159 participating bidders per Trading Event, with a 95% clearance rate.
