GlobalDairyTrade (GDT), the world’s leading online dairy auction platform, is working as it should and continues to provide globally recognised market-based benchmark prices.
Eric Hansen, GDT Director said last week’s auction saw an increase in the number of bidders and an increase in total demand across all products sold on the platform.
“First round bidding demand increased nearly 60%, exceeding the normal seasonal increase in supply offered at the auction. Demand is responding to current price levels as we would expect.”
“It was good to see active bidders from major markets across the world. We’re experiencing new bidders signing up to GDT and actively participating at auctions. Last week’s auction saw the number of active bidders increase by 13%.”
“However, there remains a supply and demand imbalance in the world market and this was reflected in the prices,” said Hansen.
